Te Papa -
Te Papa is the national museum of New Zealand. It is different from
any other museum on the planet ... playful, scholarly, imaginative,
educational, interactive, bold - Te Papa speaks with a Kiwi accent.
A must for any visitor to Wellington. |
| Oriental Bay
- An inner harbour beach that is a hugely popular attraction on
fine days. Our web site banner photograph above shows Mount Victoria
and Oriental Bay from the yacht harbour to the beach. The photo on
the right focuses on the beach area. |
 |
| Mount Victoria
- Drive to the top, or take a walk if you need the exercise, and get
the greatest views of Wellington, the inner harbour, the heads and
the Cook Strait all the way to the mountains of the South Island in
the west and the Tararua Ranges in the east. Walk down through the
green belt on the way back to our Home Stay and visit some of the
locations at which the Lord Of The Rings movie trilogy were shot |
 |
Courtenay Place
- The Wellington cafe scene - Latte and chardonnay, Guinness,
Monteith's, Tui and dozens of boutique wines and beers. Good coffee,
good meals and street atmosphere. As well as movies and live
theatres, this is the home of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and
the Royal New Zealand Ballet. |
| Downstage Theatre
and Circa Theatre - Downstage is about two hundred metres
from your accommodation and Circa is a short walk down Courteney
Place and past Te Papa. Live theatre with a variety of New Zealand

Wellington Town Hall auditorium, the Michael Fowler Centre
auditorium and convention centre and the New Zealand Art Gallery. |
 |
