The hosts of the Mount Victoria Luxury Bed & Breakfast are the owners of a 100 acre conservation reserve in the heart of the Tararua Forest Park - two hours drive from Wellington City Centre -which is being regenerated as part of a conservation project. For every booking at the B&B the hosts sponsor a New Zealand Native Heritage Tree (Kahikitea, Rimu, Puriri, Totoki, or Totara) which are designed to provide long term carbon offsets for travellers. Each
tree planted offsets an average of 20kg of carbon annually and has a
potential life of over 150 years. |
